About Summer School Programs

Some universities in Turkey also offer classes during the annual summer break between June and August. Summer school programs usually run for six to eight weeks and are open to all international students. Students are often able to receive credits for attended courses and transfer them to their faculties back home.

Universities with summer programs offer students the best of both academic and cultural worlds in a number of ways. Students take courses taught in English by international faculty members. At the same time, they have the chance to experience the culture of Turkey, a country where Europe and Asia literally meet. In addition, summer schools give students the opportunity to study abroad and earn credits without missing anything at their own universities.

All summer school students are able to enjoy all kinds of social and cultural activities organized by the universities. Furthermore, they have complete access to library facilities through the use of their temporary university student ID card. These ID cards are issued by the Student Affairs Office or Summer School Office upon registration.

Besides summer schools organized by Turkish universities, some foreign universities also offer their own summer programs or schools in Turkey in collaboration with Turkish partner universities.
